Making A Change

No more beef, chicken, fast food, soda, fried food (unless it's fish).

Trying to eat healthy and at the same time, making myself feel better when I eat.

Gotta live a long and good life, with minimal problems :)

I Love Thrash Metal...

What's New For Heavy Metal in 2010!

Ok so there were two BIG events that happened recently for metal. After the death of 3 metal icons (Dio, Paul Gray, and Peter Steele) we finally have some good news.

Nevermore's new album "The Obsidian Conspiracy" just came out in Europe, and will be released in the US on June 8th. However, like the impatient fucker that I am, I had to get it
ASAP, so I found it (with only a little effort!)

What I think about this new album? IT'S FUCKING AMAZING! Definitely Nevermore's best album so far, along with the predecessor (This Godless Endeavor). This album took 5 years to make, and it was ALL worth it. Jeff Loomis (Guitars) and Warrel Dane (Vocals) have definitely taken their music to a higher level! This album deserves my "So Much Win" award!

In other news, Wikipedia has finally corrected Bullet For My Valentine's information....

Heavy Metal Lost an Idol

At 7:45 AM on May 16th, Ronnie James Dio passed away after a 7 month long battle with stomach cancer.

All of his fans, friends, bandmates and family will remember him forever.

R.I.P.

Canadiens Fans

They're so fucking backward.

If your team wins, you riot.

I wonder what you guys do when your team looses?

We'll, I guess we'll see that pretty soon, EH?

Hate

There are so many different types of people in this world that just make me want to punch someone for the stupidity of them. Seriously, why do people have to lower themselves to, pretty much rock bottom, thinking everything will be better? Why do people have to be so ignorant, arrogant, and cocky, thinking they're the best at what they do? Fuck them...

It makes me want to live in a remote area so I don't have to deal with stupid fucking people.

What Goes Up Must Come Down

In this case, the Philadelphia Flyers are DEFINITELY going down after their 5-4 win in OT against the Bruins.

That was a gift, good luck playing in Boston in game 5. Hope you brought your tissues, because you'll be crying all the way back to Philly!

GO BRUINS!!!!!!

Jaws is choking!

Just because you're up 3-0 in the playoffs doesn't mean you can afford being cocky.

Down 5-0 at the end of the first isn't something to be proud of.

Stop choking!

The Black Dahlia Murder

Great band or Greatest band?

This band definitely broke a lot of barriers, and tread in waters where not many metal bands have gone. Ever since the beginning of their career in 2000, they've been getting better and better, lyrically and musically.

I think they're one of the best bands that came out of this decade, if not one, the best.

Long story short...EPIC WIN.

I have spoken.

Wtf?

Claude Julien is a weirdo...

But at least he got us into the playoffs!

All Hail the A/C!!

I never had an A/C in my room, and it's upstairs. It's extremely hot, however I have finally obtained an A/C. WIN!!!!

Who Said Satanism Was Bad?

This is probably one of the coolest shirts I've ever seen. Definitely getting it. Anyone who thinks the Bruins aren't going to make it to the finals will die by Satan!!!

H20 + Ecoli = One pissed person

So there's E coli in my water. Sucks balls.

Oh well, at least we still have soda, :D

You Know You Love Music When..

You've listened to the same song 46+ times on your itunes, and some more on your iPod/Mp3 player.

In my case, I've been listening to "The Fleshly Void" by the Black Metal band Marduk.

When you're pissed off, and need to thrash, this song is the best medicine!

Check out the entire album "Wormwood" if you want. I recommend it for any metalhead's collection.

Writing a Paper at 11:44 PM

I've spent ALL day writing an 8 page paper, and managed to get to 7 1/2. FML!

Fuck it, I'm just going to skip some classes tomorrow to finish it. It isn't worth it!

Sleep > School

A New Direction

So, on March 8th I purchased a drum set. I've been waiting 4 years to get a new drum set, and upgrade from a low-grade kit to something more advanced, with more equipment. I wanted to make sure this kit was the right one.

A few months prior, I have never heard of this brand of drums before, but after seeing a review of them on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFUdFFruTh0 (props to the maker), the brand has shed ALOT of light on me, someone who thought Tama, Pearl, Mapex, or DDrum would be the best choice for him. As a metal drummer, I wanted drums with a BANG, so I chose Dixon, specifically their "Demon" model. After setting it up, tuning it, getting new heads, I've started to fall in love with these drums. 6 pieces (10" / 12" tom, 14"/16" floor tom, 22" bass drum, 13" snare) of Satin Black drums with a PUNCH! Steel ball joint mounts for the rack toms, 45 degree bearing edges, 7-ply Birch/Mahogany, and a price tag of $430! It feels like I'm playing a much more expensive kit, and I'm never going to look back or regret buying these drums.

The sad part is that not many people know about them! However, I would love to show people this awesome brand, and maybe one day they can experience Dixon's awesome line of drum kits and snare drums!

Witness the "Demon"!

You don't need an insanely big, expensive, high quality kit! (Unless you're Mike Portnoy)

Impressionism

For someone who knows jack about art, I really enjoy Impressionism. I'm taking a class on it at the moment, and I really enjoy the topics we are discussing, and checking out the paintings, and learning about them, etc.

HOWEVER

The work we have to do is like a prison! Christ, it's like were forced to be art majors! I don't even think an Art Historian needs to deal with this shit! I feel bad for art majors, not going to lie. I could never do the stuff these people do. Not that I'm not motivated, but my head would explode!

Nike SB Skunks?

Yes, I'm also into fashion too!

So I thought I'd do some reviews on shoes as well, mainly Nike SB, which has been getting a lot of attention in the sneaker world.

So
on April 20th (for most stores), the Nike SB skunk arrived for buyers galore! This shoe is (obviously) supposed to give off a "marijuana" themed colorway. Not to mention the stash pocket behind the tongue! The shoe itself is pretty neat in my opinion, however just like most SBs, they're hyped on too much, and people only buy them to flip them later on for more $!
Bulls#%t if you ask me!

My First Blog? Here it goes...

Ok, so this is my first blog (obviously)...

If you don't already know, I love talking about music and expressing my opinions on artists/ablums/etc, so let's start with my first review.

Madvillain - "Madvillainy"

This hip-hop album compilation from artist MF Doom and Madlib, in my opinion, provides a great example of underground hip-hop mixed with raw music, unique lyrics, and mysterious intros and outros. I think this album definitely deserves a 5/5 in my book, for it's versatility expands pretty far. From the groovy sounds of "Raid" to the mysterious, yet non-shuh-lahnt music of "America's Most Blunted" (or maybe there's a reason behind that, lol)

To be honest, hip-hop takes up at least 1% of my music library in my itunes, however I acknowledge good music when I hear it, so I gotta give these guys props for putting out such great music. Hopefully, they can do some more in the future.

Over & Out!
